What we Do
Everything you need to know about Quizmasters trivia.
How A Quiz Works
If you've never experienced a Quizmasters event before, here's everything you need to know.
It's designed as a team game
Our trivia is designed from the outset as a team game, so that means participants should be arranged into teams before the Quiz starts. The sweet spot is teams of six to eight people.
We're low tech, but in a good way
No tablets or special apps here. Each team is provided with an answer booklet, a pen and a small basket for their smart phone. At the end of each round, teams rip out their answers and hand them in to be marked.
Only expertly crafted questions
Depending on your program of choice, your Quiz Host will take you through either 5 or 8 rounds of trivia. Rounds include Current Events, General Knowledge, Audio, Visual, Speed and more.
Each of our questions are curated to provide the ultimate trivia experience. We're aiming for maximum engagement, from every member of the team. You won't see your traditional trivia categories, but rather the perfect mix of random facts, nostalgia, pop culture and questions that make you think.
Relax, we're here for a good time
Between rounds, teams can sit back and relax as they wait for the answers. There's also plenty of time to socialize with friends and colleagues during the intermission while we calculate the half time scores.
Finishing strong with a grand finale
At the end of the Quiz, the points are tallied, the winner is announced and prizes are handed out.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of questions do you ask?
Your Quiz host will ask a wide range of questions ranging from general knowledge, random factoids, movies, music, pop culture and nostalgia! Each of our events are designed to be inclusive, engaging, and most of all - fun!
What are the rounds like?
Our rounds are as diverse as our questions. We have current events, general knowledge, audio, visual, speed and puzzle rounds.
How many people to a team?
At Quizmasters we design our games to be team-based in nature. As a result, we strongly recommend teams of 6-8 players so that groups can work together while feeling like they are able to contribute to the questions.
What group size is best for a Quiz?
As this is a team-based event, you need enough people to field enough teams to compete. We recommend at least 25 people for smaller events (5 teams of 5 people), and up to 350 people for larger ones (40+ teams of 8 people). Larger events are possible, but require additional planning and logistics. Contact us for more information.
In our experience, the sweet spot is between 150 and 200 people!
Can we customize our Quiz?
Absolutely! Although we specialize in general knowledge questions designed for everyone to enjoy, we are open to working our clients to develop some custom ideas! Let us know what your ideas are and we can craft something truly special together.
I've asked for a quote! What's the next step?
Quizmasters will be in touch within two business days of your inquiry. We will discuss the details of your event together to make sure we’ve got everything covered and check our availability. Once you’re happy with the plan, we will send you an event contract and deposit request. Once you’ve locked in your date you can sit back and relax.
How much does a Quiz cost?
Our fees have many considerations based on the details of your specific event including location, event type, production/equipment requirements, audience size and the specific day/date. See our typical pricing above. For an exact quote, please contact us directly.
What do I need to provide as the event organizer?
As the organizer you will be responsible for your venue set up, selling tickets, and providing the prizes for the winning teams. We also require a space at your venue that has access to power.
How far in advance should I book?
There’s no exact answer here. If you’re flexible on your day/time of the week, you can let us know the week before. If you need a definite date/time for a fixed event, then we recommend booking as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. We book on a first come, first serve basis.
What venues work best for a Quiz?
We recommend booking large spaces that have ample room for maximum enjoyment. Tables should be able to accommodate teams of 6-8 players and have comfortable distances between to allow participants to easily hand in their answers. Because we use our projector throughout the night, your layout should facilitate each table having a view of the screen.
Please note, we do not host events in shared spaces like restaurants or bars. If you would like to host an event at a restaurant we require a private room, or the entirety of the space to be booked out.
What kind of prizes should we provide?
Prizes aren’t essential but can add to the competition of the event. We recommend one prize for each member of the winning team and an individual prize for the winner of a side game. Some organizations like to include runners up as well. When coming up with a prize idea, make sure it is something that can easily be shared amongst a team.
